Genmaicha Green Tea

Genmaicha Green Tea

Genmaicha is an exotic Japanese recipe that combines roasted brown rice, popcorn with tender and delicate green tea leaves. Genmaicha green tea has its natural sweetness and almost chewy character and a light scent of freshness and toasty aroma. Genmaicha are seen as a modest source of vitamin B1 and contain less caffeine. Genmaicha can be drunk late into the evening without fear that it will disturb sleep. This green tea was originally drunk by poor Japanese peasants, as the rice served as a filler and reduced the price of the tea; today it is drunk by all segments of society.
