Bamboo Stick Pu Erh contains Pu Erh tea inside the Bamboo stick, hence the name. Bamboo is the traditional container for storing puer by the Dai minority people of Yunnan. The Dai people also use bamboo for storing food. The bamboo in De Hong county is famous for its fragrance. The bamboo adds sweetness and fragrance to the pu erh. This Bamboo Stick Pu Erh is great as Pu Erh collection! There are two types of Bamboo Stick Pu Erh; green bamboo and cooked bamboo puerh tea.

Brewing Guide:
We recommend using purple clay tea ware. Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water. Fill the teapot 1/4 to 1/3 full with tea leaves. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 100°c (212°F) for 1 minute for the first and second brewing. Gradually increase steeping time for subsequent brewing.

 

Pu erh tea is definitely an acquired taste. The traditional brick pu erhs tend to be very dark, tangy and "dirty" tasting (some call that "earthy"). Other pu erhs aged in things, like orange rinds, take on the smell of the thing, but sometimes that doesnt translate well into the taste of the tea. This bamboo-aged tea brews dark like a standard pu erh, and definitely smells like the bamboo casing, but when brewed, it is pleasantly clean and sweet tasting that is a perfect first pu erh for those who want to try it, but are scared off by the taste or price of bricks. This tea loses some of the sweetness in the second and third steepings, but it doesnt lose its light smell or sweet taste, and is a delight!
