Jin Jun Mei Black tea is the highest grade of Lapsang Souchong. It is known as eyebrow tea because the processed tea leaf resembles an eyebrow. Jin Jun Mei tea is harvest early spring before the Qing Ming festival. Similar to Puerh, Jin Jun Mei tea is hot and getting more and more popular now.
Other names: Golden Beautiful Eyebrow, Jun Mei Black Tea, Yin Jun Mei Lapsang Souchong
Taste: Smokey hint as any good Lapsang should be, yet the taste has distinct fruity sweet notes underneath the smoky nature of the tea. Lovely fruity honey sweetness lingers in your mouth.
Appearance: Jin Jun Mei Black Tea leaves are carefully rolled and when infused, they unfurl into young one-bud one-leaf tea leaves. Clear orange color infusion.
Origin: Wuyi Shan, Fujian Province
Harvest Period: Spring - Pre Qing Ming
Brewing Guide: We recommend using purple clay or porcelain tea ware. Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water. Use about 2 grams of tea leaves (1-2 teaspoons) for every 225 ml of water. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 100°c (212°F) for 1 minute for the first and second brewing. Gradually increase steeping time and water temperature for subsequent brewing. If you like milk with your tea, add 10 to 15 ml of sweetened/plain dairy milk and stir.
